NUVEX Plastics, Building & Construction

Thermoplastics are not always highly visible in the construction industry, but indispensible none the less. Thermoplastics offer a number of vital properties, which when exploited alone or together make a significant contribution to our building and construction needs.

Thermoplastics are generally lightweight, durable, corrosion resistant and offer exceptionally long lifespan over conventional materials like timber, laminate and metal. Easy to shape, mould and form, thermoplastics are overall economical to produce and can be modified in terms of colour and material properties.

The building and construction industries uses plastics in a wide range of applications, from piping, window frames, roofing, to interior design. In 2006, these sectors consumed 200,000 tones of plastics, making it the 3rd largest consumer of plastics next to packaging and household items.

Dotmar’s NUVEX® Family of thermoplastics has been developed to address the unique challenges of the building and construction industries and add value in terms of lifespan and performance.
